Who am I to say what's fashionably a do or don't? A FRIEND, that's who! A friend would not let you run around town toting any of the bags below or their twins. So unless you are posing for a picture of Glamour magazine's DON'T page PLEASE rethink any of the bags below and or anything similar.
A purse with guns on it is NEVER a do, I mean NEVER. Add the tacky camo and studs/rhinestones and the bad becomes unbearable. I seriously can not understand what would possess a woman to purchase this bag or anything similar. WHY???????????????? I can't even find an alternative bag to recommend.
The only bags any woman should ever carry with letters on it are: LV, CC ( and not the C's shown) or GG . I can hear the haters already, "who does she think she is, that's a brand name bag and its fabulous."
TO them I say, "No, no its NOT."
The brand pictured above does make some beautiful bags but the ones with their logo all over it are done! Want to age yourself or look like your holding on to the 90's then carry this bag or a similar one.
If you are six and toting your bracelet making beads around, then this is a perfect tote. If you are a GROWN WOMAN and carrying this around, your friends are mean hateful bitches. I say that because a real friend would make you go back to your closet and change bags while she puts a match to this one.
There is a right way and a WRONG way to wear or carry camouflage, the first picture and this one are without a doubt WRONG. They are cheap looking and super tacky. I'm still trying to wrap my brain around the fact that these bag are even made, and worse that there are women buying them. Dear LORD, don't bag ugly camouflage anything! We get it you like to hunt but hell I like to drink Diet Coke, you don't see me walking around with a purse made of recycled aluminum cans.
The Granny Bag, if it looks like your Grandma might want to borrow your purse or that she picked it out, then it's a DON'T.
Surprisingly the Granny Bag is the least horrible out of the four don'ts!
So now that I may have offended about half my followers, let me try to redeem myself with alternative handbags. If the above handbags are your jam, below are some suggestions to bring you into 2016
If camouflage is your favorite pattern or your addicted to Duck Dynasty then WOW your style with this bag. It's current, fashionable and affordable( not to mention you can personalize it too).
This pink bag comes in about eleven additional colors and is made by COACH! This is how you do a Coach bag...period the END.
While your friend is burning your croc purse, you can thank her and order this one off Etsy. Its made of woven plastic ( I have it, cut the ribbon off) and its rather chic. Trust me, the other mom's will ask, "Where did you find that great tote?"
You can tell them here
If your drawn to Granny Bags, this is the perfect one that I promise will get second looks because its classic and beautiful. You can search (vintage Kelly bag) on Etsy and Ebay for these and they pop up all day long.
These are suggestions, that's it. If you LOVE your gun purse and rock that bag with confidence and feel fabulous carrying it - THEN CARRY IT!
I'm over here just having a little fun and giving a little direction in what some might consider tacky and outdated.
What area of Don't Wear That should we tackle next ( leave a comment)????
Love and Limes,
Tikaa
Tikaa, you are preaching to the choir. I told my husband that I am not an advertisement for the designer - with the exception of the initials you mentioned. I have a Plain Black Michael Kors Purse I have had for a few years. It came with some big old MK tied to the bag by a strip of leather. I cut it off. Now it is a lovely plain black tote. My husband found the exact style in red and bought it for me. I was thrilled. Well, now MK has decided to slap his name in gold across the front. I am sorry to say I have never carried the bag. Again, I am not going to advertise for MK. I have two vintage Coach purses that I still drag out and carry from time to time. You just can't beat those old Coach bags. The black one is probably 20 years old and the other one is about18 years old. Still look very smart, in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteBuying a classic timeless bag and carry you for years.
DeleteTikaa
blue eye shadow...just no
ReplyDeleteI agree there is really no way to rock a blue shadow.
DeleteRight ON!
ReplyDeleteThough I still cannot get behind a plastic bag of any kind.
A plastic walmart bag - NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! the woven plastic tote I shared is fabulous and a DO for sure, without a doubt.
DeleteWell, since you insulted all of us wearing Michael Kors--watches!! Lol..love you & your style anyway!!
ReplyDeleteMK watches were the "thing" and great when they had there moment. I think I'm just looking ahead at different options. If you love your MK wear it with confidence and no one is going to say ^&%#.
DeleteThank you, thank you, thank you!!! I feel the same way.
ReplyDeleteDidn't I see an Instagram post from you with a rhinestone gun handbag in it????? Kidding!
Delete😂 smarty pants. It was probably in a photo with a MK watch.
DeleteLove this it is sooo true!
ReplyDeleteI only doing the same thing I would want a friend to do, tell me if I look dated or nuts! I mean who wouldn't, right???
DeleteLove this it is soo true!
ReplyDeleteIn agreement on all of your comments! Can you add "French manicured toenails" to your list of DON'Ts? Yuck. xoxo Ann in Austin
ReplyDeleteCan not even tell you how I literally almost choked and gagged all at the same time. YOU are so right, it is wrong. I'm not much of a fan on the fingernails either, but way less offensive on fingers than toes.
DeleteLove the way you think
Too funny! My husband's secretary has gotten me 3 (!) coach bags and although I love the Coach leather bags, I'll never wear those logo ones. Poor thing I know how much she makes and it is sweet, but I want to tell her to save her $$. Bless it.
ReplyDeleteThanks so the 411 on those meximexi totes / I'm going to buy a few!
